Zillis

In het centrum van het kleine dorpje Zillis (Graubünden, Zwitserland) staat de St. Martinskerk, wereldberoemd om zijn beschilderde plafond uit de 12e eeuw. Het plafond is volledig beschilderd met 153 voorstellingen en is praktisch intact gebleven.  Op de buitenste panelen worden fabelachtige figuren uitgebeeld, op de binnenste panelen het leven van Christus.

Martinskirche (St. Martin's Church) is found in the little village of Zillis in Graubuenden, Switzerland. The church is famous for its painted ceiling dating to the 12th century. The ceiling painting, which consists of 153 panels, is the only one in the world that is nearly completely preserved.  The outer panels depict mythical creatures, the inner panels the life of Christ.

De kerk van St. George in Rhäzüns (Graubünden, Zwitserland). Een  Romaanse kleinnood. De fresco’s zijn van een grote schoonheid. Stamt uit 960 na Chr. De frescoes stammen uit de 14 e eeuw.

Medieval Church of St. George at Rhäzüns (Graubünden, Switzerland) is the richest example of a completely decorated church interior of the Middle Ages in Switzerland.  Old parrish, mentioned in 960. The frescoes are from the 14th century.
